North of England Ophthalmological Society

225 Members and Visitors from both Societies (Midlands Ophthalmological Society and NEOS) met in the superb surroundings of the Oval Hall in Sheffield City Hall for our joint meeting. Mr. Steve Winder organised an excellent Retina update. Prof. Ingrid Kreissig delivered the guest lecture - an excellent resume of surgical methods of Retinal Detachment Repair, and illustrated from her vast experience of this subject.

We had summaries and updates on Macular Degeneration Surgical and Medical, Diabetes Laser and Surgery, Macular Hole Surgery and Posterior Segment Trauma.

In addition we were treated to an excellent Poster Presentation, all to a very high standard. Well done to all the Poster Authors, especially Mr. Ghosh and Miss Hillier who each won an annual Poster Prize. The Abstracts are here.

The meeting was attended by Representatives of 22 Companies who provided us with outstanding support at the Trade Exhibition. Both the MOS and NEOS are very grateful for this continuing attention.
